Given that I’m now on Substack, I’m sending out an update on new developments and recent progress. For those of you who have been with me a while, thanks so much, and there are a few new elements for you. For those who are new, thank-you and welcome!
By way of introduction, this is From Wreckage to Recovery where I blog about all things related to addictions and trauma, fitness, mental health, as well as music, books and much more. It’s always free, no paywalls here! I send out an every other week newsletter to all subscribers to generate discussion and thoughts, and to help those contemplating recovery and those clean and sober.
My essays are based on my lived experience of growing up in an alcoholic home and dealing with various traumas I experienced as a child. Additionally, I developed my own addictions but got clean and sober when I was twenty-eight. I’ve been sober for over forty years.
I’ve also been doing some podcasts, these are also linked below. One was with the wonderful Rachel Casey on her show, Sober Banter. Give it a listen and if you like it, like and share. I also was featured on Damon Frank’s podcast, Recovered Life.
As many of you are aware, I’ve been writing a memoir about my life on Cape Cod, growing up in the 1960’s and 1970’s, including both the good and not so good times. It details my trauma, addictions and recovery. I would estimate that the book is about eighty percent finished. I’m looking for a publisher, workshopping and revising. Always revising!
Finally, I’m always looking for feedback so let me know any thoughts you may have in the comments section below. Maybe you have a subject you’d like me to tackle in an upcoming newsletter or perhaps you have a question. Whatever it is let me know and I’ll respond. Again thanks so much for taking this ride with me!
My Best,
Tim
